Why Choose Florida Inshore Salt Therapy

Putting a smile on the entire family's face is our mission. We aim to do just that by providing safe and affordable fishing charters and excursions.

Capt. Pat is the owner and operator of Forida Inshore Salt Therapy. He is a second-generation Florida native who grew up fishing the local waters of Tarpon Springs and surrounding areas.  He is credentialed by the United States Coast Guard. The captain is licensed and insured. He is kid friendly and family oriented.   

Safety First

Please get Familiar with the Safety Equipment on Board

  • Life jackets- The captain must understand who is in your party so that the appropriate life jackets are available. 
  • Flare kit
  • 1st aid kit / Container of vinegar
  • Fire extinguisher
  • The captain and 1st mate (when available) are current with their CPR certifications
  • The boat is equipped with a VHF radio. Use channel 16 to contact the authorities
  • Please do not bring glass containers
  • Please consider the marine environment that you may be in while on charter trips. Catfish, sting rays, jellyfish and insects may be encountered during these trips.

  • We recommend bring your own gear for scalloping. We will provide mask and snorkel, but NOT swim fins.

     Florida's West Coast is one of the best fishing destinations for inshore and nearshore fishing! Enjoy a day with Captain Pat catching Redfish, Trout, Snook, Flounder, Mangrove Snapper, Cobia, and many other species.  You'll learn about local waters, while fishing oyster bars, grass flats, mangrove edges and islands. You will be fishing with live and artificial baits.  There is no need to bring your own fishing gear as it is provided to you. You will fish under the captain's fishing licenses and will not need to purchase one.

     Every year, people from all over come to the West Coast to experience an "Underwater Easter Egg Hunt". Snorkeling on the top of the water's surface, while scanning the grass flats for an illuminating row of "blue eyes" along the scallop shell.  All ages and experience levels are welcome, but you must be able to swim! It is a great opportunity to spend an exciting day in Florida's clear water hunting for bay scallops with friends and family.  Scalloping is typically done in 4 - 8 feet of water with mask, snorkel and fins.

    Chilling out on the pristine beach at Anclote Key is the ultimate relaxation experience.  Recline under the shade of a canopy or sunbathe until you're ready for a swim or a long stroll down the beach, while shelling or just taking in the beauty that this state park has to offer. This park is a great place for birding and the light house on the southern end of the island is a must-see historical site. Established in 1887 the light house has been sentry for navigational aid for over 130yrs.

    Experience a breathtaking sunset on the water or while walking on one of the Anclote Key's beaches. We provide bottled water, ice and plenty of cooler space. You can bring what you would like to drink and snack on and get ready to take in the beautiful sunsets, as the day ends, and the night begins.

    The Florida Inshore Salt Therapy crew have been doing family Bar-B-Ques, Boils and Frys for most our lives.  Our parents started these traditions with us on the same beaches that we would like to host you on. We can support these activities with shade canopies, tables, chairs, grills, cookers and pots. As with all other excursions the max attendees are 6 people. These are working excursions. Captain Pat will need some help hauling all this equipment around.

    Tour the Cotee and/or Anclote Rivers, the intercoastal water way to Clearwater or beyond.  Enjoy seeing the wildlife both in the water and out of the water around Anclote Key. Keep a close eye while on any of these tours because you will not want to miss a surfacing manatee or witness dolphins feeding. You can see schools of mullet, sting rays and an occasional shark!  No need to rent a boat! Book a trip with Captain Pat and enjoy a relaxing day...or night on the water.

    The New Port Richey and Tarpon Springs areas offer a wide variety of eateries and shopping opportunities. Tour up the Cotee River to downtown New Port Richey, disembark at Sims Park to enjoy fine dining and shopping. Another great experience and beautiful ride are up the Anclote River to the sponge docks, where more dining and shopping opportunities await. Make a day out it and let Captain Pat take your party to Clearwater Beach, where you can eat and shop at your leisure. Avoid all that causeway traffic, while you enjoy your ride on the water.

    There is no need to rent a boat or join a boat club. Charter with Captain Pat and tailor trips that suit you. Come and go when you want. Go where you want, while learning the local waters with an experienced guide. Give Captain Pat a call if you need a working boat and Captain. He can provide on water support for any event, project or maintenance activity. If you're buying waterfront property and want a view from the water or to check navigation, give him a call. Captain Pat can also help sea trial your new vessel and can provide delivery support.
